Mogensen recently supplied a large double deck dewatering screen (type SPL DLS 1500/3600-L756) to Tarmac Tunstead quarry for their lime production process. This screen was fitted with the new Tema Isenmann magnetic modular deck system that completely does away with mechanical fastening and therefore allows an easier and quicker changeover of worn or damaged deck modules.

The Tunstead site is home to one of the largest limestone quarries in Europe, producing around 6M tonnes of stone a year as well as lime and cement.

This Mogensen screen is used to separate washed material feed of 20mm to 40mm stone to feed one of Tunsted’s lime kilns with cut sizes of 24.9mm and 0.8mm with up to 60TPH being handled. The screen is approximately 1500mm wide by 3600mm long and is driven by two Invicta BLz 50-75/6 electric motors creating 9mm amplitude peak to peak. The Mogensen screen was easily fitted into the existing area and was up and running effectively within a short period.

Mogensen have been designing and manufacturing vibratory equipment for over 50 years and offer screens, sizers, feeders, conveyors, divergators, density sorters and compaction tables. Every customer’s application is different and Mogensen prides itself on understanding this and presenting solutions that both meet and exceeds expectations.
